Joe Miner Usage

The Joe Miner mascot graphics are to be used as supplemental graphics and are not intended to serve as S&T's institutional mark.

Guidelines

We use the Joe Miner mascot mark when we want to express pride in the S&T community and have a little fun with the brand. The mascot mark can add character to your design, but should never replace the primary logo or email signature.

Joe Miner is copyrighted. Do not alter the mascot mark or use other versions. It's not permissible to alter the Joe Miner mascot mark to be doing things or holding or wearing items. This protects the integrity of the Miner image and avoids brand and style confusion.

When using Joe Miner, please follow these guidelines:

  • Joe Miner is presented as shown below. No alterations or additions should be made to the official Joe Miner pose, colors or accessories without the approval of the marketing and communications office.
  • Joe Miner should be used primarily in communications where the target audience has a known connection to the mascot.
  • The trademark symbol must appear when used on apparel and promotional items.
  • Joe Miner is copyrighted and licensed by S&T. No poses other than the ones shown below are authorized or recognized by the university.
  • Joe Miner may appear in another location away from the university’s primary logo – such as another imprint area on apparel, the inside panel of a brochure, secondary graphic element on a flyer, etc.
  • Joe Miner should not be used to represent academic programs, colleges or administrative units. These groups should use the university’s primary logo or appropriate unit identifiers.
  • Joe Miner should never be combined with other graphic elements or placed within a defining shape to create new artwork or identity.
